have you tried a potty chair? - you can get them from mothercare and the like. They look abit more comfy than a little potty. My ds kicked up a fuss with a little potty as they are quite uncomfy. was fine when i got him the chair.

Try going straight to the loo? How old is she? How long has she been out of nappies?

Dragonhart · 27/03/2007 12:12

DS1 will quite happily go on a padded seat on the toilet but will not use a potty. I have tried loads of different ones and he just hates them all. He even put one down the toilet! He seems a little scared of it. It is apain as I am bfing at the mo and it is rubbish having to run up th stirs with dd attached to my boob!

Might be worth a try?

How old is she?

DS1 did his first wee on the potty last week [yay] but was a potty refusenik for AGES before that (he's three in a week).

He will now sit on the potty before his bath, I tickle his back and talk about his day and sometimes he wees.

We're going to move house in about three weeks, hence my softly-softly approach, but he's getting there.

My DD will be 2 on friday, shes ready to go come out of nappies as she tells you when she needs to go.
Maybe i should try the toilet seat are they any good?

Hunker i try that every morning and every evening before bath time and refuses to sit on it, real struggle but don't want to push her onto it iyswim

TBH i would try the toilet and if not maybe wait a while until she happier with the situation. She is still very young.

my ds has just turned 2 and hates the potty and the padded toilet seat. He says, 'No no no no no' and goes rigid.
He also tells me when he needs or has done a poo but I can't force him to go to the toilet so I am just waiting till he is ready.

Just because she says when she needs to go doesn't mean that she's made the leap in understanding to let herself/want to goin the potty or loo. I really wouldn't push it if I were you - she is still pretty young.
