Right have decided to invest in some Slinki Minkis. On the babycare website they recommend the amount required for a young baby is 10 size small.

Do you think it would be wise for me to purchase these in a oner now? Aree they really that good?

Baby is due in 9 weeks and i'm hoping to have all nappies here and ready before she is born.

What do the experts think??

Minkis are bulky - slinki or otherwise. I'm not sure I would recommend using them fulltime, especially on a girl (clothes are tighter).

Hopefully someone will come along who does use them full time.

I have a standard one for DS and there is no way he could wear it during the day every day as even his skater trousers would be snug.

If you're wanting pockets then bumgenious and swaddlebees are good

Ok am going to have a look at those.

Think I have become abit obsessive with Minkis (dreamt about reusables last night )LOL I love the designs and how squishy some of them look

Hi

Definitely dont buy a lot before baby arrives. (Although I know its so tempting)

I had one slinki minki for DD but it lasted all of 6 weeks. She grew out of it!

Also you might not get on with them. I found mine excellent for my DD and had no leaks. If you are planning to breastfeed, poo is more liquid and some people think you are better with a nappy and then wrap on top as it holds it in better.

Overall I have used slinki minkis a lot and think they are really good. I have used fuzzi bunz more by day as they are slimmer and minkis more at night as they are a great night nappy. But I did use them sometimes during the day just not all the times because it is useful to have a slimmer option too.

In my opinion, buying a few different nappies in advance, to trial on your newborn would be helpful.
I mean, if I hadn't bought some nappies before my ds was born, I don't know when I would have got around to it. I was too busy and too tired for ages.
I personally recommend buying little nappies, such as diddy diapers or bimbles and perhaps a few little terries or prefolds and little wraps. Birth to potty nappies are often hoooge and many cost more than the size ones to buy initially.
Pocket nappies sound fantastic, but I would say buy a couple and try - a lot of people find they are OK to begin with, but then start leaking as the baby gets bigger and pees more.
Before DS was born, I used to practice putting prefolds on my teddy with a nappi nippa and little tiny wrap.
If you like one or more of the nappies you have tried you can buy some more and perhaps sell on the ones you don't like.
They resell for at least half the initial cost on the second hand market, so you can spend the profits on buying the next size - and you will need fewer of the next size because littlies need far more frequent changes than 6 month old babies.
Congratulations and I hope it all goes well.

Hi Sorry I should have said dont buy a lot of minkis before baby arrives -a lot of different nappies is fine so you find out what you really like.
