Potty training question

Hi

DD2 is 2.3 years old and I am thinking of potty training her. I trained her sister around the same time and it went relatively smoothly.

I am off for 6 weeks now so thought it would be a good time. We have got a few things coming up (away for a week in the UK and then 4 days abroad) and I don't know if I'd be best waiting until the end of the holidays when we are at home (the last week and a half) or I should just start now (although we would then have a drive and a flight to contend with?)

She sometimes tells me when she's has done a wee or poo and will sometimes ask to be changed but not consistently. Obviously if I start and it doesn't work then I'll stop but want to give it the best chance.

Finally any tips? It was 4 years ago that I last did this!

I am in the middle of potty training my 30 month old DS. We are using the book "Oh Crap! It's Potty Training!" which is very good. You do a bare bottom for the first few days, then loose trousers and finally pants and trousers. But you have to watch them like a hawk so you need to leave it till you can be at home with her with no added complications.x

I'd leave it until after the holidays too, she's going to be busy playing rather than concentrating on when she needs a wee. No harm in putting her on the toilet or potty every now and again to get her used to what it's for

I wouldn't wait.

DD is 2.3. We started last weekend - I realised I didn't have a free weekend left over summer so just cracked on. Like you should would sometimes tell me if she had done a wee or poo but not regularly.

Absolutely no issues. Bare bum for two days, in dresses so we could go to the corner shop, swimming etc with a small amount of decency. Then to nursery this week in special new peppa pig knickers. Chocolate buttons at home and stickers at nursery for successes.

We've has one accident since we started. Honestly, just get going.
