Anyone know??

And also, the tongs that you get with sterilisers, can you buy them on their own??

yes - just put them through on a normal cycle (this is what all Americans do btw, they think we're mad faffing about with special sterilisers)

never seen the tongs sold seperately - why not just get some cooking / salad ones?

or wash your hands with anti-bac handwash and not bother with tongs at all? i didn't have any last time round and only have this time as they came in the kit!

MrsBadger · 26/03/2007 17:54

I thought the tongs were for handling hot things - def wouldn't bother just to keep things 'sterile'

maybe i'll try that when my dishwasher arrives!

Indith · 26/03/2007 18:01

what are the tongs for anyway? You have to touch the stuff after to put the bottle together anyway!

wurlywurlyCOVEREDinCHOCOLATE · 26/03/2007 18:01

I only wanted the tongs as i have a steriliser to give to my nephew for when they have their baby, but they also have a dishwasher so wasnt sure if they would really need a steriliser as well.

Some people like to have both especially in the early days but there is really no need to sterelise after been in the dishwasher.

anti bacterial handrub is no substitute for soap and hot water used properly, in hospital useful for visitors as they will not go to the sink and wash their hands so bring in germs from home, car and bus when entering the ward (but far, far, far better than nothing)

EllieK · 26/03/2007 19:59

not all of us can use soap tho

EllieK · 26/03/2007 19:59

i think you thought i'd said handrub tho, actually i said handwash

confusedandignorant · 26/03/2007 20:07

soap or soap substitute (yes the handwash)
