Veg issues with 2 year old

Anyone else have issues getting veg into their toddler? My DD literally will either spit it out or not try any at all, she used to eat a few types but now she doesn't seem to be eating those Confused. She is pretty fussy in general anyway but I just worry she isn't getting what she needs.

If anyone has any ideas - please let me know! Thanks

Ds prefers peas mixed with mash - easier to eat!! He likes helping to prepare the veg - I chop, he puts it on the pans!

Im told its very normal at this age. Give fruit to get something in to them and offer veg every meal until one day they try it.

No ideas, just sympathy / commiseration. My DD is 2.8 and has not eaten veg in any quantity for at least a year. occasionally peas, sweetcorn but literally maybe 10 peas / kernels. Very rarely she will take a fancy to something e.g. Last month would eat sliced cooked baby courgettes from our garden. That lasted about 3 meals! Oddly she often asks for broccoli but then refuses to eat it. Sometimes I can bribe her to eat a small floret covered in ketchup if i promise ice cream after.
She won't eat anything tomatoey except for ketchup either so can't hide veg in a pasta sauce. I have tried hiding roast butternut squash in cheese sauce eg in a macaroni cheese, it works if there isn't too much. Also with macaroni cheese I've steamed broccoli and then almost mashed it and added it to the cheese sauce. She's not that happy about it but it's too small to be picked out and will usually eat it.
She does eat buckets of fruit so I don't worry too much from the vitamins / fibre POV but I do worry about her teeth.

Oh I read one explanation for why toddlers often refuse veg - that veg is not calorie rich enough - e.g. If toddlers were to fill up on mainly veg they would not be getting anywhere near enough calories. So they aren't programmed to eat tons of it anyway.

That's reassuring to hear - thanks all. Hopefully one day she will surprise me. DD loves her fruit actually so I guess that helps. moggle it looks as if your pulling your hair out too. Its so frustrating especially when you put all that effort in & then it just goes to waste.
