So my DD is nearly 5 weeks old (first child) and I always planned to have more than one if I could. Not planning on anything right away but just wondering whether having your babies closer together takes its toll on your body quite a bit?

Had a long induction labour with forceps and episiotomy so just putting feelers out to see when people had their next baby after a similar experience? Am I naive to think I could easily do it again so quick?

If it were me, I'd give yourself at least a year for your body to recover, but I don't know if you have any other factors to consider like age?

I didn't have the induction or episiotomy so I'm not sure how long that takes to recover from. However from a general pregnancy point of view...we started TTC when our first was 4 months and fell pregnant when she was 7months. The pregnancy was no more difficult on the first and didn't take a greater toll on my body. Labour was fine too.
Maybe you could ask your doctor at your 6 week check if you need to wait a certain time?
I have a friend who had a very long labour that ended in an emcs. She fell pregnant in the same time frame as me and had a successful vbac

Didn't have forceps with my 1st but did have a LONG induced Labour and long pushing stage with an episiotomy. Felt pretty rotten for a while afterwards. Fell pregnant when dc1 was 9 months (unplanned Blush), pregnancy was a bit harder but think that's from having a toddler to look after! I was dreading the labour and recovery but actually it was much quicker and I didn't tear or need stitches, felt back to my normal physical self pretty quickly.

Obviously it's all anecdotal but for me the 2nd time around was much easier.
