How many meals and bottles are 9months old supposed to have in a whole day?

It's recommended that they move to 3 meals (offering food 3 times a day, no snacks) between 8 and 9 months.

As long as they are getting a minimum of 20floz a day of formula, it should be ok.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 17:45

How about the calories bit so they can sleep nicely cause I think I need to start feeding her more because she keeps waking up for her dummy and crying out of her sleep many time in the night ?

Is the waking something new? They have a huge developmental spurt around 9 months. That could be what is waking her rather than hunger?

Can't help with the dummy but it might be worth starting a separate thread asking for tips on getting rid of it if she's constantly waking and crying for it.

She's been doing this for a couple of months now

3 meals a day plus snacks and 16-24oz of milk per day. We do 2 x 7oz bottles a day and a couple of oz in porridge.
So today -
7oz bottle 7am
Fruit purée in readybrek with 2oz milk
Snacks 10am baby crisps
Lunch 12pm cheese spread sandwiches, fruit, cheese, yogurt
Snacks 3pm rice cake
Tea 5pm spag Bol and fruit pouch
Bottle 7pm 7oz.
Hope that helps!

Are they allowed diary cause I've been giving mine diary feeling bad that I'm doing wrong

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 17/07/2017 18:35

Yes dairy is fine at 9 months. They can have practically anything except for honey, whole nuts, highly salty foods, etc

dementedpixie · 17/07/2017 18:36

At 9 months mine had 3 meals, 1 snack and 3 bottles of milk

princessachica · 17/07/2017 18:38

She's been having cheese and yogurts that's diary and I've always questioned if it's okay

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 17/07/2017 18:41

Yes it's fine from 6 months

princessachica · 17/07/2017 18:42

That's good but is her calorie intake why she waking up lots ... cause it's a nightmare

OP posts:
whenyouwish · 17/07/2017 18:49

I make sure mine have a good filling tea. Lots of protein and carbs so meat and pasta or rice or potato. Then a pudding and big bottle before bed and he goes 7-7. She might be waking with separation anxiety rather than hunger as my little ones got really clingy lately.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 18:51

She's moaning in her sleep then crying if she doesn't get the dummy to soothe her back to sleep

OP posts:
princessachica · 17/07/2017 18:51

Do u think I should do a separate thread about this

OP posts:
EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 17/07/2017 19:06

Dairy is fine, after all it's the same stuff formula milk is made from, it all comes from a cow Smile

What does she usually have each day Princess?

As for the dummy, have you tried a cherry teat? I think they are less likely to fall out.

Other things that might work are a dummy clip, you clip it onto the sleep suit. Have you tried white noise as well? Yiu can get a white noise app on your phone.

princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:10

During a day she has milk then some cereal - weetabix then she has some more milk then she has a yougurt and a cheese sandwich then she has another bottle then for dinner she has peas carrots gravy and potatoes with chicken and then she has some porridge bath then bottle then bed

OP posts:
princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:10

Cherry teet I will try that and what is white noise

OP posts:
princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:12

Well that's what I've been doing I saw a improvement last night but before she was on little bits n pieces with formula

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 17/07/2017 19:16

It may not be food related. It could be the dummy itself causing a problem. I took ds's dummy away at 5 months old as he kept waking multiple times for it at night. It wasn't hunger related, just that he needed the dummy to get back to sleep again

princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:19

Yes because she is thinking dummy is to get her to sleep she won't fall asleep with out the dummy I don't seem to be able to get her to sleep with out the dummy she cried a hour and I gave in gave her he dummy and she fell asleep straight away

OP posts:
dementedpixie · 17/07/2017 19:20

I don't think extra food is going to help then. I would post in the sleep topic about the multiple waking for the dummy instead

princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:22

Okay thankyou

OP posts:
MrsChopper · 17/07/2017 19:39

Could she be teething, OP? That can certainly keep them up at night

princessachica · 17/07/2017 19:58

She goes sleep but is moaning in her sleep up to 6times to have her dummy put in

OP posts:
Caterina99 · 17/07/2017 20:11

At 9 months she should be able to reinsert her own dummy if she can find it. We had one that had a stuffed toy attached so it didn't roll away and he could easily find it at night. I've also heard people literally putting 10 dummies in the cot, or you can buy things that attach to the cot that you can hook the dummies on. Or glow in the dark ones.

Also they go through various sleep regressions when learning new skills - crawling/walking etc? And of course teeth can cause sleeping issues too!
