Struggling to poop

My daughter is 11 days old and hasn't poop for 6 days. My midwife said to give her boiled water with a drop of orange juice. Just wondering if anyone else has any advice on what I could do to encourage her to poop. Thank you
Michaela

Is she breastfed or formula fed?

Have you tried laying her on her back and moving her legs as if she's riding a bike?

Breastfed babies can go a while without pooing, dd used to regularly go every 10 days or so until weaning, it's one of the major benefits of breastfeeding imo. With breast milk there is no waste, it is tailored perfectly to give your baby what it needs, their bodies are using every last drop to grow and develop.

However your dd is still very little, is she having lots of wet nappies? You can try giving her a little tummy massage, there are videos on YouTube. If you are concerned and it goes on much longer though I would go straight to your GP. I've never heard the advice of giving orange juice in water, but your midwife is undoubtedly better informed than I so maybe try it? A little bit isn't going to hurt her, but maybe try plain cooled boiled water first before introducing orange juice.

Thank you guys

Iv gave her boiled water and have been doing exercises with her. She's not in any discomfort and is still feeding and having regular wet nappies. Il just rid it out fingers crossed she will go soon. Got the midwife back on Monday xx
