DP (stupid partner) banged babies head.

My DP barely helps out so when he does I welcome all the help he gives. My DD is ten weeks old and we have just got home from a friends house. My DP wanted to help put her in her night clothes and change nappy whilst I sorted the bottles out. From the kitchen down stairs I heard an almighty bang and a crash from the babies room. My partner bashed her head off the changing table. Baby cried lots but has since calmed down and gone to sleep after I gave her some milk. There is no lump, do I need to have her checked out? I know accidents happen but he admitted he wasn't looking and he had propped her up. I just find it so irresponsible! Angry

Oh my goodness, I would be fuming! I'm the anxious type so i would probably ring 111 for some advice.
Hope she's ok.

I wouldn't worry too much. I dropped DD a couple of times, and she rolled off the bed more than once too.
Babies are very resilient.

I have a 12 yr old and a 10 yr old.

Twice my DH managed to bang my dd's head. The second time he was carrying both dcs and banged both their heads! Once he draw lots of blood!! However, it was a tiny cuts and things calmed down quickly.

My ds cut his head open twice jumping into a radiator!

The first time I went to the walk-in centre. Sat about 4 hours yo be told she was fin. Given a check list of -

Vomiting?
Temperature?
Lifeless?
Excessively Sleepy?

If these things happen within the next few hours then go to A&E. otherwise just kept an eye out. Chances are your baby will be totally fine.

It's scary, but you soon learn things things happen. You try your best, but it does happen.

"An almighty bang and a crash" suggests it's a bit more than a bump on the head.

No harm in calling 111 and getting some advice.

Accidents happen but hopefully your DP is more careful in future.

Hope your DD is okay Flowers

The bump doesn't sound like a problem, but are you planning on changing the status quo? Being with someone who "barely helps out" with his own child - while you are still in the postnatal recovery stage no less! - sounds soul crushing. The more effort he puts into doing am equal share of parenting, the better he will become at avoiding accidents.

He propped up a ten week old? Hmm how is that even possible?

I would get baby checked.
