Hi all
I have a 10 yr old DD and (nearly10)
What time would you say was an acceptable time to come in it's a silly question from a mum but I really don't know iv set the time as 6.30pm
But I feel bad when all her other mates are still out playing but I just get worried about her, she's pretty sensible but is notorious on being late a lot coming in at 7 or 6.45pm which results in her being grounded the next day, should I give her a little more time I also worry a lot because she doesn't have female friends and prefers to be around boys she likes riding bikes and football rather than girly stuff which is fine but sometimes I get a little uneasy when she says she's been around "so and so's" house playing computers Confused

My children are nearly ten but they don't play out.
No way would they be allowed into a strangers house. For child protection reasons.
I think your child needs more supervision sorry.

We live in quiet road and I know the child and the parents of course
It's just it's always boys she has no interest in girly stuff at all
But still stuck with the appropriate times

Maybe you could extend to 7pm, but keep a zero tolerance attitude to lateness. I'd feel a sorry for a 10 year old who doesn't get to play out 2014!

What is she coming in for? I let mine play out until dinner which is at 7.30. The computer thing is a separate issue not related to time.

Ah OK you do know the people, sorry I thought you meant she was wandering into strangers houses.
@friendlylightupbear
Where we live it's not a playing out kind of place. I wouldn't feel sorry for them they have a wonderful life, they've never seen anyone else playing out or heard of it so don't know what they are missing. Playing out is lovely but not possible in all locations. However we are 2 mins from the beach so they have other opportunities that other children may not have.

And they can play in the garden and on the terrace

allegretto · 14/07/2017 13:04

I mean is it for dinner? To go to bed? To do homework? Why does she have to come in at that time particularly? If there's no particular reason maybe she could have half an hour more.

Livelovelaugheveryday · 14/07/2017 13:11

Because she has tea then homework then wash by the time that's all done it's around 8.30 and time for bed x
