Becoming a Social Worker

Reposting here Smile

I’m interested in becoming a social worker but unsure of the best way to do this! I have a 2:1 degree (Special Needs and Inclusion) and experience within education and residential care for young people. I have read about Frontline and Thinking Ahead (I have an interest in both areas) but unsure how the residential summer course works (I have young children) . Also, do these courses only qualify you only to be a child protection social worker/mental health social worker, whereas an MA or 'Step up to Social Work' course would enable you to work within any area of social work?

Also confused about changes to funding. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated Flowers

I was just about to post the same thing so I'll follow this. I hope someone else can clear up your questions to Frontline and Think Ahead, but here Is a link related to your funding questions, that I've found:

www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/2017-05/guide-to-social-work-bursaries-2017-18.pdf

You can also ask questions on the Social Work Bursary account on Twitter. They're available every day to respond, I think.

Will keep checking back - good luck with your research Smile
