Car seat help - pretty please

I'm totally overwhelmed by choice and misleading descriptions, any help much appreciated.

Dd is 9 m/o and could possibly do with the next car seat. Having read up on safety etc I think I want a rear facing, iso-fix compatible seat. However all the main retailers websites offer endless choice when I tick "rear facing", but most of them aren't rear facing beyond 9 months.

Can anyone recommend me their car seat that is rear facing? I also probably need a cheaper car seat for DP''s credit for when he does the short journey drop off to childminder, as I'm imagining she won't want to be keeping car seats etc for me.
Thanks in advance.

It's recommended that children rear face until 4 years now, and definitely in a harnessed seat. I know not everyone will want to do that, but if you do and your child is expected to be over 18kg before 4 years (can judge this by following their line in the red book) then you'll want a 25kg ERF seat Smilethis picture has most of them on it! Just in case it helps, I've lost count of how long I've spent trying to choose the next stage seat!

I'm IN south Wales so those places are a bit far, thanks though!
Welshweasel the 2 way pearl seems to be compatible with the iso-fix I have, and price matching seems to find John Lewis on par, and u have a £100 voucher for there I can put towards it was eyeing up some curtains but never mind, bww hww. Do you have any head flop issues with yours? I'm reading that it can be problematic with some seats, thanks!

OP you can have a telephone consultation with the In Car Safety Centre if you're not able to get there

No we've not have any issues with head flop tobuy and our seats are pretty sloping. DS was about 6 months when he first went into it and was fine.

We have the britax dual fix. It's rear facing until 4 but swivels tonne forward facing if you want. It is isofix too. Highly recommend.

We have two extended rear facing car seats. One is by besafe and one by cybex (sirona).

The cybex wins hands down! It's expensive but has stood the test of time through two kids. X

Contact 'in car safety centre' and they will give excellent advice related to your child and car.

We had the 2 way pearl - it is a good seat but don't buy it if your child is larger than average as it is quite small. We now have the Britax 2 way elite which is not isofix but that is better for us as with a big child he is likely to reach the weight limit for isofix long before we want to turn him forwards. I'd also recommend the in car safety centre.

We have the 2 way pearl in one car, and a britax erf giant thing from the in car safety centre in the other. Really pleased with both.

Weve got the joie i anchor advance (mamas and papas sale - was £125 for seat and base so bargain!) And it feels safe and secure. Have also had my friends 2 year old in it rearfacong and he looked comfy too.

The strap is a bit fiddly at first but fine once you get the knack.

I wish we had enough money for the base when we got the pebble plus but couldnt justify £600 for the pebble, the pearl and the base

Halfords are very good on this if there's one near you .They refused to sell my husband i.e. Grandad a seat without seeing the child to check correct sizes etc since he didn't know the weight etc. so missed out on a sale of over £150

I have a hauck seat that can rear face or foward face til 18kg, isofix or belted. DS2 is 3 and weighs about 16kg and forward faces in it.
