9 week old incessant crying

My 9 nearly 10 week old has cried from she was 3 weeks old. Most days she cries for at least 4-5 hours. Today she's been crying from 4pm until now and most of the morning. We've been to the gp multiple times and had a hospital admission where everyone keeps saying it's reflux - she's on omeprazole for this which takes away all her reflux symptoms. She naps for 2/3 40 minute sessions in the day which allows me to eat and sometimes shower but literally nothing else. When we leave the house she screams the whole time so we just don't. She is ebf and was born 3 weeks early. I have no idea what to do with her, it's destroying my relationship with my husband as we're constantly at each other's throats. I haven't slept for more than 4 hours a night ) 2 x 1.5 hour and 1 x 1 hour session) per night. When visitors come it's a nightmare as she screams the whole time and no one gets anywhere near her. We persevered as everyone told us she'd get better by 6 weeks. Someone please say this will get better soon, we went through infertility and finally fell pregnant with her and now I feel like it was a horrible mistake. There's obviously something making her miserable but no one can suggest what anymore. We've spent hundred on every colic remedy there is going to no avail!

Is she otherwise healthy? Is she gaining weight?
I just wondered if she's got a tongue tie and so isn't feeding as well as you thought.

Good luck!!!

How are you at the moment OP? If u r still feeling low please see your GP soon - you might be on verge of Postnatal depression (completely understandable due to circs). You aren't alone and you'll get through this. Trust your instincts xx

Thanks everyone for the lovely replies - so good to know we aren't alone and others have been through this! Took her back to the gp yesterday as she was weighed and has lost 30g from last weigh 1 week previous - she's on the 2nd centile as it is so can't afford to lose any. Gp sent us to hospital so we're now in the children's ward at our local hospital. They think it's reflux that is poorly controlled so are doubling her medication dose and have started her on carobel thickener before she feeds. Something is bound to help!!

My DS was the same. I found that holding him upright for 30 mins after feeding him helped with the reflux. The more time he spent lay down, the worse he was. Definitely get a sling and go for walks - you'll feel better and positioning should stop the crying

I had a baby like this too and just like previous posters it was cows milk protein and soy allergy causing the problem.

After one month of elimination diet she was much improved. I had to be meticulous about it though as one slip up and she was back to screaming again. Gp didnt know what they were talking about.

It got much better when she started on solids and her tummy was lined with food. Less of it came up as burning acid then.

Take care of yourself, it is a killer. Can anyone else watch baby while you grab a nap?

I know what you are going though. It is really hard especially by yourself. It usualy goes away around 3 months of age, but some babies last a little longer.

My baby had colic for about 2 1/2 months every night. She would scream as if she was dying and nothing we did calmed her down, until I put her on baby's magic tea. It settled her colic just in a couple of days. I regret why I couldn't find it early.
