Use them in the same way as fleece, I tend to just sort of lay them in so they are all inside with no foldig...but mine might be smaller than yours?

Handwash only/30 degree machine wash - keeps the healing qualities etc, and stops them shrinking. I didn't know that when I first got mine though and did a normal wash No noticable shrinkage, and where I use them soaked in chamomile it has that for healing/soothing instead

Nappy cream - yup.

See that was what I thought originally with the healing... then someone told me I had wrecked the healing by washing them too hot

Thanks for clearing it up!!!

Hiya,

I can understand where the person was coming from when she said that a hot wash might destroy the healing properties of silk as I've often wondered about this!

Lots of "living" things get a kind of surface build-up of enzymes which are killed on a hot wash.

But as far as I understand, silk is naturally anti-bacterial and this is an "innate" property of silk. Same with wool which is why it does not hold smells, etc.

BUT they will shrink if you wash them at 60 which is what I did!! They got in with a bad poo wash. Still usable though ;)
