Keeping clothes clean!

I've just done a huge pile of my sons ironing (aged 3) and nearly every Top has got dirty splodges on it that haven't washed out. I've washed them per the washing instructions on 40 degrees. Is this just part and parcel of boys getting things mucky, why aren't the clothes coming up clean!? Anyone know?

Watching with interest - I also have a 3 year old boy and am rubbish at laundry!!

I also have the same problem, plus realistically I know I'm too lazy to faff about with pre-soaking/pre-washing things :)

My plan is to try and tie die a few things to hide the stains.

Heat sets stains. If you have a 15 min express cycle shove them all in on that at 20°. Can always then do a daily wash cycle at 40 or 30.

The Canadian stain spray stuff is vg if you spray on same day. It means when you ash the stain hasn't set. I do the occasional hotter wash with a big dose of Vanish to get rid of stubborn stains. Also anything synthetic will stain and set much more than cotton

Do you use non-bio? I always have more stains left if I use that instead of bio.
