pushchair dilema

yet again i wanted to ask your advice.

when i bought a pushchair i had a little car so bought the smallest travel system i could find a graco mosaic. its very nice and i love it. however it is small and flimsey and unless ds2 is in the car seat i dont feel like he is 'secure' since having him i dont have to worry about fitting the pushchair in the car. dp takes it as he has changed jobs so i am walking everywhere. i dont want to keep him hunched up in the car seat to walk anywhere and wondered what pushchairs you have. ideally it would be rear facing and suitable from birth as ds2 is 6 weeks old.

thanks xxx

I have 2 pushchairs, I have a big Bebecar pram that is forward or rear facing and is comfy and secure enough for a tiny baby heavy but built to last and very easy to push I love it was the pram I always wanted, talked myself out of it when DD was born and bought it when she was about 1 and used it from birth with ds.
I have a loola too rear or forward facing but not really suitable for what you want.

Have also heard lots of good things about the Hauck Infinity but not sure if you need the carrycot for that one for a tiny baby.

We have a Loola and love it. I particularly liked the fact it was easy to switch the chair seat between forward/rear facing and between car seat/carry cot. I drive a Corsa so we needed something small too and it has worked fine. That said, I do think the carry cot is expensive in comparison with others (although you can use it overnight so DS slept there for the first 8 weeks until he went into the cot).

I have Graco liberty elite (doesn't really appear in the shops bought mine on-line)

see www.Graco.co.uk

It is a rear facing pram but the footbar that toddlers usually rest their feet on goes into an upright position and with a special cover it becomes a carrycot!!! It is fantastic and can easily (by squeezing two handles one on each side) be turned to be a forward facing pram and therefore a travel system.

I'm still using mine (now with a cosy toe) my DS2 is 10 months.

It also can have the car seat attached so it was fab for that until about 1 month ago and I am a huge fan of the In Car Base.

I've got a Maclaren Techno XT (turbo-bastard-thingymajig) which has been great - suitable from birth, lies straight flat back, folds up small (I had a mini metro, so boot space was an issue but this was fine!). Not rear facing, however, and I must admit I only used it with dd when she was tiny if we were travelling by car somewhere, as my MIL had bought me a 2nd-hand silver cross for local movements.

It was about £160 from mothercare but came with raincover and cosytoes. Still using it now for dd at 2.1 years, it has taken a bashing but is still going strong.
