High chair recommendations?

So the ikea high chair has been a fail for us. My baby cries when she gets in it and fidgets around. We need a new one asap. Can anyone recommend a lovely one?

I like the stokke trip trapp, very good!

MrsChopper · 02/06/2017 22:00

We bought the Hauck gamma + one from Aldi during one of their baby events. It's like a cheaper version of the trip trapp. Love it!

Anything BUT a Mothercare brand one. We had the Mothercare bear and friends one, it was a nightmare.
I've heard the Joie ones are quite good.

I hadn't considered any wooden ones. Are they comfortable?

Is it the high chair that is wrong or ... the fact child is adjusting to it....

god dont get a wooden one. try scraping weetabix off it

APaperMe · 02/06/2017 22:12

You could try an insert for your ikea one?

skyzumarubble · 02/06/2017 22:18

Tripp trapp. Yes they're £££ but we're still using them six years down the line and when I work from home I use them as they're so comfortable.

We got a lovely secondhand Jané chair. It comes apart to be a low chair and table too, and has a comfortable attractive padded fabric seat cover. I've never seen the brand in a shop though.

Dalesgirl16 · 02/06/2017 22:19

We have the insert and it's definitely the chair he hates, nothing else

Oh crap, sorry, just google it then! It's lovely.

CycleHire · 02/06/2017 22:21

We have the ikea highchair and tucked a towel around him when he was small so he was more wedged in. Free and worth a try before ditching the Antilop?

plimsolls · 02/06/2017 22:21

I got a Stokke Tripp Trapp chair second hand and bought the baby seat attachment new. It's great. The baby loves being sat at the table but you can buy trays for it if you'd rather it be more traditional high chair style.

LemonCakeAndTea · 02/06/2017 22:23

I really rate our baby bjorn highchair

DoItTooJulia · 02/06/2017 22:24

We had the oxo sprout chair. One of the best things I bought. Comfy, grows with baby, fairly stylish and the very best feature-a small foot print-it really didn't take up much room at all.

Along with the jumperoo, the buggies and a bath thing that was non slip and had a bum shelf so baby didn't slip under the water.

Zampa · 02/06/2017 22:25

We have the Stokke Steps and the Baby Bjorn one. Both £££ but try eBay? Baby happy in both.

MrsChopper · 03/06/2017 06:30

I find the wooden one to be easy enough to keep clean. Even stubborn porridge stains. And he is comfortable in it. Mine can be used with or without tray.

Cooloncraze · 03/06/2017 06:37

Definitely stokke tripp trapp. Wooden is fine. Wipes clean easily. Loads available second hand if you don't want to buy new.

Dalesgirl16 · 03/06/2017 10:30

Oxo and stoke are so dear!

DoItTooJulia · 03/06/2017 10:44

I got my oxo cheap from eBay-a discount baby store, cost about £90 bears it was in a plain box rather than a branded one.
