Nearly 8months and wotsis???

My daughter is going to be 8months she has two teeth at the bottom and I am just wondering if wotsis crisps would be a nice treat for her to hold and eat her self from time to time ? Has anyone given their baby's wotsis?

Supermarkets are full of more appropriate snacks for babies!!

Afreshstartplease · 30/05/2017 15:16

I'm sure she could manage them

Most supermarkets sell more baby friendly versions though which my ds (7m) loves. They are larger and I assume healthier.

Okay thanks allot I thought they where for older babies as my supermarket it's not layed out right

Just had a look in cupboard and we currently have

Ella's kitchen melty puffs (6m)

Organix rice cakes (7m)

Heinz baby biscuits (7m)

LapinR0se · 30/05/2017 15:21

Yeah the Ella's puffs are better

IDontBowlOnShabbos · 30/05/2017 15:23

I don't know if they're much more unhealthy then the organix stuff. I wouldn't give them to my baby though, I hate the smell of wotsits.
A baby with wotsit breath and covered in luminous orange dust that would get everywhere is not appealing!

Northgate · 30/05/2017 15:23

I'd expect most 8 month olds could manage wotsits. But I'd be concerned about whether they're suitable for an 8 month old - that sort of snack tends to be quite salty.

When I was weaning DC1 & 2, you could buy snacks in the baby aisles at supermarkets that were a similar shape and texture to wotsits, but aimed specifically at babies, so low salt, vegetable flavours and so on. More expensive than wotsits but healthier for a baby. I'd look at that kind of snack in the baby aisles instead.

Afreshstartplease · 30/05/2017 15:32

100g wotsits = 1.96g salt

100g Ella's puffs = 0.01g salt

So very significantly better for your baby

user1486273640 · 30/05/2017 15:33

Oh thankyou so it's the salt aspect of the crisps I should be looking at

One or two every now and then if others are having them would be fine, though I wouldn't buy them specifically for her. Echo pp that the Ella's puffs are a great Wotsit-shaped alternative. My DS used to go mad for them to the point that we (somewhat inappropriately, I suppose) referred to them as 'baby crack'.

MusicToMyEars800 · 30/05/2017 15:39

I used to give my dds the Organix crisps and rice cakes.

Hope she enjoys them op!

FartnissEverbeans · 31/05/2017 17:16

My wee one loves that sort of stuff too! I get the Ella's ones as that's all that's available here but they're great. If we had Tesco I would do what you've done Smile
