pooing in the bath.....time to potty train?

DS is 21 mths, have not potty trained at all because just had DS 2 (3 weeks) but have a potty upstairs and downstairs. I think he has some understanding of what they are for.
He tells me sometimes before he does a poo and nearly always after he has done a poo. He has taken to pooing in the bath on a fairly regular basis which is annoying but I don't tell him off as I think he knows no better?

Is now the time to potty train?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My dd used to poo in the bath. It was a phase.
I didn't potty train her till she was 2yrs when she started to reject nappies. Even then, it was still a little too early IMO (different timings for different children of course) as we went through so many accidents. Her friends are undergoing potty-training now (they're nearly 3 now) and according to the mums, it has been very smooth compared to my DD's training.
To cut the long story short, I personally don't think it's a sign to potty train. Pooing in the bath is rather common at that age.

I think pooing in hte bath is common and not necessarily a sign that they are ready for training.

COuld you od a half way measure and put him on a potty before the bath to do a poo? And see how well he gets on.

thanks for your messages
You have persuaded me to leave it for a while longer. Not that I have the energy for it at the moment with DS2 only 3 weeks old
Grandparents keep on about when will he be potty trained etc and I was feeling the pressure!
