Teething newborn hell

DS is 10 weeks and has been actively showing signs of teething the past few days. He's screaming in the evening, chewing his fist, eating my fingers, getting hot, drooling everywhere, more pooy nappies etc. I can see teeth on the top and bottom.
What can I do to help him? The teething rings don't fit in his tiny mouth, I've tried dummies in the fridge, giving him a dose of calpol when he's really bad, the pharmacist said Ashton and parsons would be ok even though not supposed to have until 3 months. He's having them half a dose Morning and evening.
DD teethed much later so could help her more but I'm really feeling for DS as he's so tiny! He's usually such a chilled baby but he's absolutely screaming the place down each evening Sad

Are you sure it's teething? A lot of those signs also mean over tired and wouldn't it be throughout the day too if it was teething? If not Anbusol is good, as well as calpol/ibuprofen in alternate doses but think ibuprofen is over 3 months. Ime sadly nothing really works that well and I've just had to wait it out.

Babies saliva glands start working at 10 weeks so they do suddenly become drolly.

We used to wet part of a muslin and put it in the freezer, just because it was soft, dd could hold it and put it in her mouth.

Amber beads too - there is no scientific proof that they work, but I could always tell the difference when she hasn't got them on.

Definitely teething I can see and feel the teeth.
DD was worse in the evenings but today he's been worse than ever - he's sleeping during the day so don't think he's overtired.
Seems I'm stuck until he hits the magic twelve weeks - hopefully it will calm down soon.

3 months is not 12 weeks, it's at least 13.

Someone else mentioned the amber beads - thank you.
I may try one of the anklets - not sure about a necklace on a 2 month old

It's a placebo effect. You think it works so you're calmer. Baby picks up on that.

You could try Bickiepegs . He may need help putting them in his mouth but they are smaller than teething rings and the like.

kel1493 · 20/05/2017 17:08

Aww. I remember when my lo was teething. The only thing that worked for him was Calgel teething gel, though that's only suitable for babies over 3 months.
Other than that, I'm not sure what else you can do

Womble75 · 20/05/2017 17:28

I forgot about Bickiepegs - thank you they helped DD.
I'm not a stress head so doubtful he's picking anything up from me. TBF I'll try anything to help him - like I said he's not a fussy boy so something definitely up and I can physically see the teeth!
