What advice would you hand down to your daughter as she becomes a mum for the first time?

hi - i'm mum to a 12 year ds and 6 1/2 month dd. Becoming a mum again this time around has been a completely different experience (i was 19 when i had ds) and also the fact that i've had a girl this time has made me look more at my relationship with my own mother.
Anyway, i would really like to put a little book together for dd with things that i've learned and found interesting/helpful. ie.
nappies - i've got on better with dry pailing
eczema - porridge oats in her bath water has worked really well,
you know the sort of stuff
i know that she'll do it her own way, as i have. Am sure my mum despairs of me sometimes! But i'd really like to get it down on paper, then maybe she might like to add to it if/when she has her own children.
Has got me curious now, what piece of advice have your mums passed on to you and what would you pass on to your dd?

What a good idea, I wish I'd had one of those. The most useful thing my mum's passed to me is that leaving a baby to cry for 10 minutes isn't going to harm it and it can be the difference between coping or losing your sanity!
