I have 2.5yo and almost 5yo boys and the other day I was looking through the books on their shelves and they're soooooooo dull!!! I feel I've been reading them the same books for years.

what books do your kids love?! I feel I need to refresh and replenish their stock and maybe move away from some of the babyish books we still seem to be reading.

Probably sounds silly but have you tried taking them to the library? They can then pick some fresh books for themselves

Hi
Yes I should have added we do go to the library frequently and my son has his school book too each week. I guess it's the go-to ones that we all seem to be a bit bored with

At 2.5 my DD loved You Choose by Nick Sherratt and Funny Bones by Janet & Allan Ahlberg. DS was a strictly Thomas fan.

Has your 5yo tried any of the Dixie O'Day books?

Have you tried posting in the MN Children's Books section too OP? Smile

Your five year old might be ready for The Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton, my ds loved those. He also liked the Topsy and Tim books, your 2.5 year old might enjoy those too.

I used to love those books (picture attached hopefully!) I think they do them from 3 onwards? But lots of short stories which are perfect for bedtime.
