Brilliant bit of kit.

Vics100pink · 03/05/2017 15:05

How do you use yours? How often your baby feed

My baby is nearly 11 months and I've had the perfect prep since I stopped breastfeeding at 3 months. Amazing bit of kit, absolute life saver and I highly recommend it !!

Get one right now! They were brought out between my two boys being born. I can safely say night time feeds are a thousand times easier with the prep machine. Love it!

IAmTheWorwax · 03/05/2017 15:11

I've heard bad reviews of it making babies poorly.

Pinkjellybeans · 03/05/2017 15:19

I've used it ever since giving up breastfeeding at 3 months and couldn't live without it! It's amazing and made the transition alot less daunting. Yes there has been negative press on it but it's still surely safer than the other quick methods people tend to use, unless your going to make it the 'proper' way which isn't very practical.

tissuesosoft · 03/05/2017 15:19

Amazing! Just make sure you clean it out monthly (running steriliser through it) and only use the tommee tippee filters

AutumnGlitterBall · 03/05/2017 15:21

We were given ours as a gift. Def wouldn't be without it now. Little one is eight months' old. We were a bit paranoid about the fact the cool water is only filtered through the machine even though we have good soft water from the tap so we boiled the kettle to fill the machine up.

FluffyBathTowel · 03/05/2017 15:22

I love it. It received bad press recently due to a baby allegedly becoming ill from it but I believe that the parents were using a filter from Wilkco rather than the correct one. As long as you change the filter every 3 months and use a Tommy Tippee filter (approx £10) then I think it's great.

I was unable to breast feed so having been using it since DD came home from hospital. She's now 10 months.

Imstickingwiththisone · 03/05/2017 15:27

I planned to mix feed and have used one of these. If you are just ff then it's a pita to make up the bottles but at least you know how many to make up. This machine meant i could get instant top ups or pop out without baby knowing DP could get a bottle made up if baby gets hungry.

Thanks it's good to hear options, how do you clean the machine and how often? What about the tubes at the back? And I'm worried about the stagnant water aspect of the machine

www.tommeetippee.co.uk/perfectprepcleaning - for cleaning the tubes. The water should be fine, it doesn't hold that much water. I just take out the water insert to clean it with warm soapy water and leave it to air dry

Vics100pink · 03/05/2017 22:30

How often do you change the water

Never to be honest. The water chamber only holds about a litre of water so that goes within 10 feeds. I only empty it out if I'm cleaning it. With the descaling from the link it really helps keep it all clean
