Pull up washables?

Want a pull up/down washable to help me trying to potty train my ds.

He is quite young and so need a nappy type one for when we are out and accidents might happen.

Have looked at motherease trainer pants and swaddlebees stuffable but if anyone can give me any advice on either or another nappy, it would be great!

I haven't tried them, but minki do yoyos which are meant to work like pull ups.

Fuzzi Bunz stuffable all-in-ones work fine as pull-ups, we called them 'big girl pants' and used them at night for DD. Have a look on Ebay.
I found it best not to use a nappy at all in the day, just carried spare skirts, carrier bags and old terry squares for mopping. In the pushchair or carseat stick a terry on a carrier bag as a piddle catcher. I have a pile of old cotton baby shorts for DS to train in, waiting for the weather to warm up a bit.

I like the mother-ease training pant if you're specifically buying a training pant. It's not massively absorbant but will take a couple of wees ok, which is really what you want. It fits well, and there's a godo range of sizes. Outer is like their wraps so you know what you're getting. You can get them to fit a large toddler.

Of course, the disadvantage is that you're buying a whole new item.

The Swaddlebees pockets don't fit so large - the large size fits my 2.6 but not with much to go - but pulls up and down well (although not as loosely as the ME). If I'd been looking for a pocket at 12 months+ then the SB is an excellent choice as it ALSO has the advantage if being able to be used as a pull up.

Going on usability alone and ignoring cost and whether I'd use it on another child, I'd go the for ME.

Taking into account any use I'd have with it as a nappy, the SB is brilliant.

Um, does that help?!

DS is in the xl wraps, so you think the swaddlebees would be too small?

Sorry xl Motherease airflow wraps!

I couldn't say, Dragon. It comes down to shape as much as anything. P wears (or wore!) XL AF but still can wear a SB if necc but others can't.

Trial ones available, just say the word.

ok but TBH weight isn't always the main issue(see Flame's issue with the medium ones).

Would you have a need for the SB as a nappy as well, for this DC or another?

Dragonhart · 13/03/2007 20:16

Sorry, been chaotic here and have not had a chance to sort myself out.

Yes it needs to be a nappy too as DS is pretty young to be potty training (had a crap day with it so thinking of waiting a bit longer! House stinks of detol!!).

I have tried afew disp pull ups (guilty emocicon!) which a friend gave me and I can see what Flame means as one side of them always seems to be up between his cheeks but he did a poo in one and even though it was lots of little bits (sorry if tmi!) it didnt escape.

How long have the swaddlebees stuffables been about. If they are new dont fancy finding out in afew months that the plastic leaks or something like the magicalls.

Ooh just replied on the other thread - I think the SBs look more unreliable than they are.

Not too sure how long they have been about...

Emmmmmmmmmmmmmma???

(Psst, Cathy didn't reply today tell me what you're talking about!!!)
