Baby on board signs??

Genuinely interested in what people see the point of these 'baby/ children on board' signs to be?? I've always wondered this and no one can give me an answer, and it's really starting to bug me!
Is it like 'I've got children in my car so please don't crash into me??'. If so then this seems ridiculous...and also fairly pointless.
I'm a parent and a driver so wondering if I'm missing something glaringly obvious?
Thanks Smile

Don't they often come free with small child-related shit? I have seen them sponsored by the devil Nestle and Kellogs. Our local Mothercare type shop (Prenatal, i live in Forrin) hands them out with Chupa Chups!

Snopes is inconclusive.

It's possible, that when they first rolled out (1980s? In US?) they were intended to assist emergency services there. But in shirt order they just became another meaningless sticker.

(I'm not going to say 'Pointless' as I'm rather a fan...)

It's because other drivers otherwise deliberately drive into you but they will spare the life of an innocent babe.

Don't Kate and Willy have a 'little princess on board' on their Bentley?

Trashy- but they could get away with it Grin

JigglyTuff · 23/04/2017 19:53

They're just silly boasting about fecundity and block the rear view of the driver

Okay maybe that's unfair. I'd like someone who has one (or one of those family stickers) to explain their logic then. They're proud?
