Question about autism

My brother has autism. He lives quite far from me now so I only see him a few times a year. I am understanding his autism more now that I am an adult and I just stumbled across an article about autism which listed a trait which is definitely > interrupting others.

So he does this quite often and I normally correct him in which I am normally told to shut up Grin

Should I correct him? My mum doesn't. Is there any point?

He is 18 btw. Thanks

Here for example:

Autism and epilepsy are not single diseases or disorders. There is no single etiology for autism or for epilepsy. It is, therefore, more accurate to refer to these disorders as the autisms and the epilepsies

From this: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2734903/#!po=6.46552

(Picked randomly from a google search - there are lots of papers referring to the 'autisms' now and it had been discussed at conferences for a decade at least).

At the very least researchers will divide into simplex and multiplex autism. But it's fairly well accepted now that that is just the start.

OP it may be appropriate to correct your brother, it may not - depends really on how he functions and what appropriate goals are for him.
