Babying your last born?

Despite me wanting 3 children, dh is happy with 2, and although it isn't set in stone I am beginning to realise a 3rd may not be. I have recently found myself talking to and treating ds in a way more appropriate to a child younger than he is (2.3 btw). Has anyone else experienced this, I guess, reluctance to let go of the baby stage when they know they aren't going to do it again?

I babied my last baby - I was still dressing her when she was 8yo but had to give that up when I was pg with No4.

Now we all baby dd2 even though she was 11 yesterday. She tolerates it with good humour which is just as well as with siblings who are 9, 17 and 21yrs older she's always going to be babied.

Chance would be a fine thing, he wont have any of it. I keep telling him (5) that mummy's need kissin and cuddlin else they curl up and die.
