Hi,
Thanks for replying. Sorry for my delay, I started writing a reply the other day, my phone ran out of battery and lost the lot...so I'll have another go!
Apologies for being paranoid but it was a very sudden drop off of responses to none...but, thinking about it since, it did coincide with the Easter holidays so it was probably that. I didn't begin to mean to offend anyone, I'm north-east born and bred, it wasn't remotely a pre-conceived idea of ignorant north-easterners. It was a genuine concern....
I suppose I'm ultra conscious that this move has to be right, and being accepted by a new community would be paramount to it feeling 'right'. I moved around a lot as a kid and absolutely hated being moved and having to start new schools and make new friends so myself and Emily has promised that we'll try to make this our one and only move with our girls, especially given their history and even greater need for consistency and stability....hence my being a bit over cautious.
Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. At the moment the front runner for us is still Tynemouth...but, we agree, it's very expensive!!! Our budget would preferably be about £300k but we could potentially go higher. Are there any areas to avoid? We love living on tree-lined streets and to wake to the sound of bird song (we've analysed what we love about where we live now!) and would like to keep those sights and sounds around our new house if possible...being close to an easy dog walk (park, beach, grassed area) and not too far from a school is our dream...answers on a postcard please!
Good luck to the girl looking at Low Fell...we really like it there too, it's still on our list of possibles. I've always really liked Low Fell since being a young kid passing through, it's got a warmth to it! We like the Kells Lane area, great school...shops...green...not too far to walk to public transport or Saltwell Park either 👍
Cheers again everyone. Peace out!! ✌️
