I am at a loss now what to do with dd1

I am at a loss with dd1 (7.10), for months now we have to argue with her everday to wipe herself after a no2, her pants are absolutely disgusting and I've thrown more than one pair away, but she really does not seem bothered, we have tried every angle, buying her pink toilet paper, andrex wet wipes, reminding her etc, but it all falls on deaf ears.

She also refuse to brush, or have her teeth brushed.

Hi Radley. Nightmare! My 5 year old is like this. He doesn't care at all. It's so disgusting. I keep finding an unflushed loo with poo in it an no paper, so obviously he hasn't wiped.

I think he's got fatigue with me having a go. Perhaps asking someone else to mention it, someone outside the immediate family, might make him and your dd listen afresh?

Otherwise shock tactics. Google poo pictures under a microscope or something.

Dd1 didn't used to flush the loo so dp said everytime she didnt flush it he would take 20p off her pocket money. Maybe you could try that?

As for teeth brushing I would say do it properly now or no more sweets or fizzy drinks - you have to mean it, a week or two of going without should convince her its a good idea to do it?

You could always try the tack that if she can't be a big girl and do it herself, you'll do it for her. And obviously no playdates etc because, well, she might be a bit smelly?! Star charts etc etc, with grily prizes? As for teeth brushing, that's non negotiable, She has to do it and I (but I'm mean) would hold her down and do it. Two sessions of that cured my son, and talking about the dentist etc didn't work, he really didn't give a poo!

Excellent idea jollymum. Back to basics. I think I'll try that.
