Do I need it or should I just use travel cot and sleepyhead pod for newborn

Why not get a proper cot? I'm not a great fan of bedside cots because they don't get used for very long and you still have to lift the baby into them, a cot does the same job and gets used for years imo.

Got a proper cot but It not in the same room as us and that what they recommend

I hired a bed nest for the first 3 months. Which was very handy. When baby grew out of it I sent the bed nest back and just put the cot next to my bed with baby in it at highest setting. We have quite a high bed though so might not work as well for a much lower bed.

We found the Chicco crib great, it's pretty big so will last at least 6 months. Much easier to pick baby in and out of than a travel cot. It's very easy to put up and down so also not bad for taking away. I would still put a sleepyhead inside it as it's so roomy for them when they're newborn.

I have a sleepyhead in a chicco next to me. Plus a cot bed in the baby's room for the future.
I would recommend it. It is so easy to feed in the night. The baby doesnt cry in the night as I hear him wake for a feed and I can get him before he starts to cry.

Definitely! Or if not then a cot right next to your bed.

I had the snuzpod pod. DS is a fairly big 5 months and has just grown out of it so has gone in his cot in his own room.

We often end up cosleeping too.

We have a CNTM and I would be without it. I had an emergency surprise c-section so it turned out to be very handy to have DD so close at hand and at a decent height (given it took a few days to be able to push down on a cafetière I doubt I could have picked DD up out of a travel cot).

Just to add- I ised a travel cot last week while on holiday and found it a nightmare. It's so low to the floor lifting baby in and out when exhausted in the middle of the night was really hard work.

I don't think you need a chicco next 2 me, (though I love mine) but I hate travel cots, especially when the baby was litle, as it is so difficult to put baby down without waking her, and it is so uncomfortable to pick her up. We've used one with a bassinet level, which was more comfortable for picking up/putting down, but it didnt seem very stable, and i wouldnt want to use it long term.

The chicco next2 me is good if you want to sort of cosleep safely, or are too lazy/knackered to get out of bed everytime the baby wakes (and my baby woke up a lot), but other people do fine with cots or moses baskets. We used our chicco next 2 me for 6 months though, so it was reasonable value (plus they have a good resale value).

I love our snuzpod, got it second hand which saved approx £100

I love my snuzpod, and also sleepyhead. I had an emergency cs, so it was ideal to be able to slide baby back into snuzpod without bending or lifting. Also baby loves to fall asleep holding my hand bless him

Can't imagine life without ours!

I thought both Chicco and snuzpod looked very small, especially the snuzpod. I have a normal sized cot with one side off at the side of my bed.

Next to me works well for us. IMO Moses baskets are a waste of money as baby soon outgrows- next to me is roomy. We didn't use it with the side down much past the first few weeks but I LOVE being able to look through the mesh side to see what baby is up to.

Last time round I had a Moses basket which DS grew out of in THREE WEEKS so he then had to go into the cot in our room.
This time, he's still in the cot, so I've decided to get a Next To Me for the new baby as they're much bigger than a Moses basket, so I hope it will last a few months at least! I'm looking forward to not having to get out of bed to feed/change in the night, too

DD1 was in a moses basket next to the bed for the first 4 months then into cot in her own room. She mostly slept fine in it.
DD2 is a month old. After 2 weeks of her not sleeping at all in the moses basket we bought a next 2 me cot. She still prefers to be on us, but will tolerate sleeping in the cot most of the time. It's much much bigger than the moses basket so should last 6 months. A full size cot wouldn't fit in our room.

I wasn't going to get a CNTM but decided to when I realised the Sleepyhead wouldn't fit in the Moses basket.

If you're going to use a Sleepyhead, you'll need something big enough to fit it in. I wouldn't be without either of mine. The SH was second hand but the CNTM was new and in hoping I can sell it on for about £100.
