DH hates me for over thinking everything and I know he's right. But seriously this is stressing me out!
Booked a trip away in July to a UK beach resort and we're staying in a seafront hotel with our (what will be) 18 month old DS.
He is currently a very good sleeper - bed at 7.30, sleeps till 7am.
However he is also a very light sleeper

Are we all going to be going to bed at 7.30pm every night? ! How do you do it without disturbing their sleep?

Also how do you sort their milk? He currently has cows milk when he wakes and at bedtime, slightly warmed in the microwave. How do you get around this when you go away?

Normal people seem to just get on with stuff like this but it's really stressing me out!

We've done this the last 4 summer holidays and are doing it again this summer. I agree with pp, bedtime can be pushed back a bit on holiday, especially if there's a day time nap. We take it in turns to settle DD (she's restless so one of us sits by the door) and one of us goes to the bar. Honestly, most nights we're shattered and ready for bed by 9.30 anyway!

Most small hotels will refrigerate milk for you if you ask nicely. We take a mini fridge for milk (hate UHT in tea too!) and food like cream cheese for picnics on the beach too.

We also use long life milk when away, and, depending on how hot it is, if you keep it in the bathroom it actually lasts overnight so you don't have to waste it.

Put the travel cot up in the bathroom - we have done this very regularly at premier inns, and your bathroom can't be smaller than that!
Then you and dh can relax/watch tv in your room and not disturb him. We've even had lovely wagamamas and other restaurant meals in our room - order online and one of you pop out to collect it after bedtime.

Re milk, we would just buy some of the little bottles of premixed stage 2 formula. Although ds had cows milk from 1 he was happy to have that instead for a few days, and they don't need a fridge

Ps - only downside to the bathroom cot is if you need a wee in the night you have to go to reception, so depends whether you often get up in the night!

Toddler taming man says you can train up your light sleeper using white noise so they sleep a bit deeper.
Basically, de tuned radio on the very lowest volume at bedtime and leave on all night. Gradually over time (every other night) increase the volume of the white noise.
Worth doing if you are all going to share a room!

That's great, thanks everyone for all the good advice! May have to try him again on the Aptamil premade formula I totally forgot about those! They were a godsend last year!

Nan0 - we actually use white noise for all his sleep, we have it set to car noise. It's fairly quiet but just background noise, it worked great for a few months but not anymore unfortunately!

I had thought about turning it up as she mornings us rolling over in bed will wake him in the next room which is annoying! But I read lots of info saying it can be bad for their ears? !
