Terries and muslins, what's the difference?

My DD seems to need better boosting that just a 40cm sq. terry and a terry booster for overnight nowadays. I am considering buying a bigger terry for the stuffables that we use.

But I know some people use muslins. What's the difference? Is it just whatever you can easily find in shops? Or are there advantages/disadvantages?

I find a terry square much more absorbant than a muslin, so I guess they would be great for not so heavy wetters but if you are already going through a 40cm terry then either more terry or how about a bamboo terry, even more absorbant.

I found terries more absorbent than muslins. However, I did use 60cm terry squares. The 40cm squares would not be enough past the first few weeks. They are good as a booster in other nappies though.

Terries are deffinatly more absorbant than muslins. I use microfibre to boost ds's nappies I bought a pack of 3 whit microfibre cloths from local shop and tend to use one in day time nappies and 2-3 in night time nappies, they are thinner than using a folded terry and really absorbent too.
