Are you going to be stocking the whole bambineo kits? (or geobel or whichever it is??)

They have one listed as a size 2 kit:

5 pink Bambineo nappies with velcro and booster
5 Cream Bambinneo nappies with velcro and booster
5 Pistachio Bambineo nappies with velcro and booster
3 extra boosters for the heavy wetter
3 large 20-30lbs - supersoft wraps, designed for comfort
1 roll of bio-degradeable, unbleached paper liner - (100 sheets)
1 laundry/wet bag will hold upto 10 nappies in a handy drawstring bag.

And I had a few questions whether if you were to stock it if anything in it would be mix and match, so to speak.

I am too...

lunavix · 04/03/2007 09:13

lol

ok the question is for you too

could the colours be interchangeable (I don't like pistachio!)
could they be nippa instead
are the wraps the bamboo ones?

Thanks to both of you!

btw flame - what does your ds weigh? I was wondering what weight/size the size 1 actually stops fitting? If it could stretch to around 20lb I may get those too...

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2007 13:24

I haven't actually tried a size one (I started with a size 2)... It says it goes to 20lb - I can order one and try putting it round him if you want

Interchangable colours - I feel sure it could be arranged

I think the velcro thing is just where it is getting up and running - I haven't been told that nippa versions are stopping (and I'll be stamping my feet a hell of a lot if they are!!), so that should be fine too.

The wrap - as far as I know is this one click "en", then products, then outer wrap.

Hi Luna,

I think Flame's covered most of this, but:

In theory the boxes aren't supposed to be changed around. In practise we have so much stock of each it's not a problem.

Yes they can be nippa ones instead - again it's not an option generally, but as long as you don't mind the box being opened before you get it, it's fine!!

Yes, the wraps are the neeeeew and lovely bamboo ones. Very soft, lovely fabric.

No, we're not stopping the nippa ones, they're just not such good sellers as the velcro ones so the stock's being run down a bit.

They are the velcro ones? What's with the poly whatever thing on the bambineo site?

makesachange · 04/03/2007 21:01

Huh? Poly thing?

confused

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2007 21:16

On the bambineo site if you click the products bit the "outer wrap" is a jersey cotton/polyester exterior with a PUL inner.

How's the cold now?

lunavix · 05/03/2007 09:19

yes flames question is what I wanted to know too cos I have no interest in more pul wraps lol

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 05/03/2007 12:54

It is the jersey cotton/polyester PUL wrap. It is extremely soft bindings etc designed with special care babies in mind, but it is still a PUL wrap iyswim.

makesachange · 05/03/2007 14:51

PUL = PolyUrethane Lining.

It's really soft, nicer to the feel than cotton, much more eco friendly and free of pesticides, etc.

Still lined with waterproof PU which is plastic.

FLame - thanks for asking still feeling rubbish, but getting there!

VV Sad as Peter's gone into pants this weekend
I had to take the plunge as his nappies have been clean and dry for a fortnight and he keeps wanting to go to the loo despite my best efforts to make him go in his clothies

Still, all well so far, no accidents, v happy little boy, and he's not yet dry overnight so I can still use my Bambineos!!!! Hurrah.

Hi

Just about to order Baby Beehinds (Hemp/cotton mix). They tick all the boxes for me and feedback I've read has been good. My only concern is the drying time compared with other cloth nappies, as I don't have a tumble dryer.

Does anyone have any experience of this brand?

Flamesparrow · 07/03/2007 14:34

I've not tried them, but do use bamboo full time with no tumble drier... its really a case of just having an extra 3-4 nappies so that you have enough to use in the cross over period when they are clean but still drying

tutu100 · 07/03/2007 19:16

i LIKED MY BABY BEEHINDS NAPPY BUT MY SON OUTGREW IT AT 15 MONTHS AS IT STOPPED COMING UP HIGH ENOUGH. Scuse the caps lock getting stuck! The only problem I found with the cotton/hemp ones is that if you don't have a tumble drier they do go very hard, but I do live in a hard water area so I think that probably makes it worse.

makesachange · 07/03/2007 19:43

I have a Baby Beehinds nappy - the organic cotton and hemp ones. I have to say it's one of the best designed birth to potty nappy in terms of shape, popper design, width of tabs (for going over boosters and to fit a big baby) and size adjustability I've come across. I trialled it for Makes a Change (with it being organic cotton it's obviously our thing).

It comes in unbleached fabric with cute colour options on the stitching. It has two boosters - both removable - take both out for a newborn and add in the small one when needed, and the long full length one (folded forward for a boy) when baby gets bigger still.

It's pretty absorbant due to the hemp content but not as absorbant as bamboo. Bambineo nappies are more absorbant.

On the downside it goes REALLY hard (even in soft water areas) if not tumble dried - worse than cotton tots and MEOS because it's made of a soft of felted fabric, not terry, and is not able to soften even with vinegar/rubbing it together/etc. Even if not tumble dried it's not the softness nappy and I would therefore not recommend it if you can't tumble it.

Also as Tutu says, it's really not high enough in the rise. My 2.6yr old can still just about wear it in emergencies but he has a serious builders bum, and it's really not any good for children over about 24 months, often less.

If you like the style and fit (which is superb) then you may consider the bamboo option. I've not seen it but I understand that the design is the same and of course it will stay lovely and soft if not tumbled - it will just take longer to dry.

Hope this helps,
Emma
