Do I tell dd's friend's mum that her dd wet the bed?

...that's it in a nutshell really.

dd2 had her friend (both aged 7) round for a sleepover last night.

Dd came to me just before she went to bed tonight and said "sorry I didn't tell you before mum, but I think X wet the bed last night"

There is a wet patch on the matress, so I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Not a big deal, it's just one of those things, and the dd's were very understanding of why she didn't say anything. (so no worries about her being teased about it or anything)

I just don't know whether I should mention it to the mother or not. I am good friends with her, and see her regularly, but I don't want it to sound like I'm "telling tales"

Over to you...

Would you want to know if it was your dd?

mummytosteven · 03/03/2007 21:52

yes as
1)there may be a health issue underlying this (say UTI)
and 2)even if not, the mum should be aware that precautions may be needed for the next sleepover

Not sure if I'd want to know - well, actually, yes, I would.

I know that she was still in dry nights (or whatever they're called) when she was 5/6, so I think it has been an issue.

She's stayed here many times before with no problems (that I know of) though.

you'd want to know, I would too, so I think you should tell her mum.

Also, the girl may tell her mum herself, then she'll wonder why you haven't mentioned it.

yes, good point.

I am seeing her on Tue, so will mention it then.
