Weaning - bibs!

Random question, I use a coverall bib for my dd now we have starting weaning, but most photos I've seen of my friends kids eating are just sat at the high chair in normal clothes getting filthy. Are bibs no longer used?!

I use a coverall bib for 10month old. Nearly 3Yo has a slip on one for messy food. Although I think he may be a more amenable, but messy, child than some.
I prefer for my children to not look grubby. It may be, the other children refuse to wear bibs?

I only used a bib at lunchtime - pjs were going in the wash after breakfast and day clothes going in the wash after tea anyway so I didn't want a bib to wash up as well!

My DD hated any kind of plastic bib. I used disposable bibs for a while until she worked out how to tear them off. After that I used a muslin instead. She hates them as well but we managed to persevere long enough with them until she stopped being so messy when she's eating.

When we 1st started weaning DD (now 11 months) she wore coverall bibs, these have gradually reduced to over the head longish bibs - depending on what she is eating. We still use the coveralls if it's something orange (tomato based) or particularly messy. She always wears a bib for drinking too as was quite messy with her sippy cups but seems to be much better with the 360 cup - hardly spills at all! Largely because I don't imagine it's overly comfy having a soping wet front after spilling loads of water down your front.

We have a variety of bibs depending on what's being eaten!

Spaghetti bolognese = coverall!

Generally I like the Baby Bjorn plastic pelican bibs and roll up DD's sleeves. DD hated it at first but now loves it after realising she can eat all the dropped food out of it.

Stain removal drives me crazy so I would never let her eat anything messy without a bib. No bib equals no food in my house!

Dd eats in just a nappy . Much easier than clothing getting ruined

We religiously did bibs for every meal. DS did try and get them off but I bought ones he couldn't remove. Then he started nursery at 16m and they don't wear bibs. Now he goes crazy if you try to put it on him so I just do more washing. Often he doesn't make that much mess though
