Moving bedtime for 4 and 3 year old

Hi all

I have a DD(4), DS(3) and I'm sue baby 3 in March.

Currently kids bedtime is 7pm. They are tired and go to sleep, but as I've been back at work for a year now, they get very little time with my and DH before bed.

They are also up by about 6am every morning.

They currently fight going to bed despite being very tired.

I'm thinking of pushing bedtime back to 7:30pm so that they get a bit more time in the evening with us, and that maybe they'll sleep longer in the morning.

DH regularly works away, and I think it will be easier to get the baby to bed, and then deal with the other two.

Had anyone else done this? Any tips? X

Hmm. I never had a baby who went to bed by 7pm so that wouldn't have worked for me Grin

There's no 'right' or 'wrong' answer with this- you have to do what suits you as a family.
When you are out at work then have to travel home, then collect from childcare then start making the evening meal, bedtimes would probably be likely to be a bit later than in a family where there is a parent at home all day I suspect, just for very practical reasons. What is 'normal' is the routine that works for you - don't worry about what others do.

I have ds who is 4 and goes to bed at 7 the same as you and wakes at 6am. I am getting a lot of fighting at the minute at bed time so I was thinking of moving his also. I do have a dd (4 months) and she goes to bed at 6pm and it's soo much easier them being different times.
