18 month old DS doesn't talk?!

DS is 18 months old. He hasn't yet said one word. No " tah" or "mummy" ... nothing.
If he wants something he'll point a moan.
I'm worried as every other baby his age seems to be able to say at least one word.

My 22 month old DD has only just started to say things and I mean one word like mummy and hello. She didn't say anything at 18 months. I don't think it's unusual.

Dont worry yet! My son was the same where as my older daughter was talking in sentences by then. They develop so differently, your DS is communicating his wishes and language will come.

My ds said absolutely nothing until 23 months then the penny dropped and he tries a new word practically everyday.
It seems like everyone's baby learned to talk before mine. As long as your ds's hearing is fine and he's tying to communicate it'll probably all work out ok.
It's great that he points.

My little boy is 19 months and the exact same! He's only just started to point at things and make a shreeking noise. I can ask him to get his cup and he will but that's about it. He plays with toys well and other children and my dog! He always loves it when I sing to him and he always makes eye contact so I'm not overly worried and going to give it more time

Is babbling? You know just making random noises as he plays?

My second child didn't start trying to say words till they were 26 months old.
