Push along trikes

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend one please? There seems to be an awful lot of them about and they vary in price hugely! I'm not keen on spending a vast amount, but I want one that is safe and will last a few years. My son is almost 11 months so not ready for most of them yet, but I'd like to get him one for his birthday in January with a view to using it when he's ready.

Many thanks!

I'll be honest here, we got one for DS's first birthday, it's hardly been used and he's 2.5 now.
Maybe we'll get more use when he can start peddling it himself, but up to now it has been a big fat waste of money.

Ours is a little tykes one and I don't really like the design, I find it a bit unsteady. Maybe smart trikes are better.

Interesting Eminybob. I have to be honest I don't actually know anyone who has one, I've just seen them in the park and think they look great!

Anyone else had one they do or don't rate?

We have the little tykes one. We got it for him when he was 9 months old, he's now 2.8years. He loves it. We don't use it loads but when we are going out to the park etc. It was very useful when he started walking and hated the buggy cause he wanted to walk but couldn't properly, as he'd happily go in the trike, so very useful then! He's almost close to being able to pedal so I think we'll get a new lease of life of if then as well. If we mention going to the park he goes and gets it from under the stairs.

I got the Little Tykes ones and have since replaced both of them as I wasn't keen - they were very rattly and the steering wasn't great. Friends have bought the Smart Trike and some weren't keen on it. I picked up a Little Tiger Trike second hand (but you can get them from Smyths Toys - www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/outdoor/trikes/c-939/trikes/p-12544/little-tiger-modi-trike-red/?gclid=Cj0KEQiAsf_BBRDMpoOHw4aSq4QBEiQAPm7DL398z74yU59m0P5E_1QY6xSgAGNVDVXYKS7ck5sNcSIaAqM58P8HAQ) and absolutely love it. It has so many more features and looks much better too

Northend that looks amazing, I would have to get second hand at that price!

Northend we have that one to. Returned a smart trike for it. Very sturdy can be used instead of a buggy to go on a walk and loads of storage.

We also haven't got much use at all out of ours and DD is over two now. We bought second hand and I'm glad I only spent £15 or so on it. A much better purchase has been the IKEA toy kitchen. Even just turned one it was fun to be allowed to open and shut doors/turn the hobs on and it has grown with her over time as she's now starting to enjoy role play

Used ours a handful of times glad I only spent pennies on it waste of money!
Little one could reach the pedals but didn't know how to pedal and kept knocking his legs or he would put his legs in the way and we'd nearly both fall over.

Thanks for your feedback everyone. Has anyone tried a smart trike? I've seen one for £40 which seems reasonable.
