Football boot sizing

Can anyone advise on kids football boot sizing please. I want to buy football boots for my 6 yr old DS as a surprise. He is size 10.5 in normal shoes. However Sports Direct and other sports shops seem to use a completely different sizing guide. When we bought his original boots the assistant in Sports Direct tried to tell me that Clarks shoe sizes were only valid for Clarks shops (obviously a lie) and we only found out his boot size by trying on lots of boots. This isn't an option if they are a surprise. I've googled to see if there is a conversation chart but nothing. Any help please?

My son is size 10 and has a size 11 boot. My older son generally has half to a full size bigger in football boots too than what his clarks school shoes are. They both have quite wide feet tho so don't know if that makes a difference. Depending on returns policy could you buy a couple of sizes and take one back?

I just took my 6 year old to sports direct to try football boots on so he can tell Santa what size to get. His feet measure 12 and a half. He was wearing his football socks and the best fit was a 13. My 9 year old has size 5 feet and wears size 5 boots. So I don't think there is a massive difference. My oldest boys are adidas and the ones my youngest tried on are Nike if it makes any difference.

Definitely go up a size. DS is in size 10 and we bought an 11 in football boots (adult sizing- please stop growing!!!!)

We find Adidas narrower fitting than Nike

Definately go up a size. Although I used to buy the Clarks football boots when ds was little as they had Velcro fastenings rather than laces.

Example - in fucking robdogs Clarks ds measured a 4.5 but the 4 fitted better 🤔🤔 He has Addidas football boots in a 5.

Agee with a post earlier, it depends on the make (I have bought more pairs of football boots than I care to remember) so the only way of being sure is to try them. Also bear in mind thick socks and shin pads might make a difference. Best you can do is buy them but change if they don't fit.

Thanks for all the responses! See my problem isn't whether to go a size bigger etc, it is what that size is called. So for example on Sports Direct website for kids football boots the following sizes are the options - "C10 (28), C11 (29), C12 (30.5), 1 (33), 2(34)"

Does C10 mean size 10 in normal shoes? The guys in Sports Direct last time said it wasn't the same but perhaps he was wrong?

Yes they are just normal sizes with the European version in brackets.
