This is probably going to sound ridiculous but here it is - woke up this morning with terrible cough and generally feeling rough (am also 39wks pg), so DH took my dd (19mths) to her grandparents for the day.

Only it started snowing an hour later and now DH is stuck walking home (2hrs) and dd is stuck overnight at DGPs. I am in floods of tears because I can't get to her, even though I know she is warm and safe and looked after I just can't stop crying beacuse I want her with me.

Don't really have anyone I can call to offload and feeling totally awful. DH shouting at me on phone not to be stupid doesn't help. Sorry if this is hormonal and self indulgent.

God - I'd be in tears too... I can't imagine anything worse than being 39 weeks pg and separated from your dh and dd. I would be worried sick about dh if I were in your situation - had lots of irrational worries when I was heavily pg.

But your dh will be fine. 2 hours is long, but not impossible and, as you say, dd is in a warm and safe place. The alternative of dragging her 2 hours through the snow is by far the worse option...

I feel for you though...

Its not just hormones..I still miss my 4yr old when she is away overnight and i'm not pregnant! Dh shouting never helps but they just thing practically in that situation not emotionally, try to enjoy the peace before little one arrives or on the other hand baby could come tonight then it would be a good job dd was at grandparents! either way have a cry then try to have a laugh at yourself and don't worry we have all been there, best wishes xx

Maybe your dh shouted because he is worried that you might go into labour whilst he is trudging through the snow and he won't be there to help you...

thankyou both - it really helps not to feel alone x

labour unlikely - i have a record for 41+ wks and this doesn't seem to be any different!
