My 7 wk old has strted dribbling. Does anyone know if this is normal? Surely he is far too young to be teething - isn't he?
Reassurance please - much appreciated!

It might be tongue-tie. My daughter had this. It wsn't a problem, but it did result in some spectaular dribbling ability, Sorry if this isn't quite the answer you may have been looking for - but am just sharing my expereince.
Look at the flap of skin that secures the tongue to the base of the mouth and see if you think it is allowing the tongue to move completely - or your Health Visitor could help.

At around the same age or only a little older, dd2 started dribbling more, then putting hand in mouth, getting red cheeks.
Thought it looked like teething but presumed it couldn't be.
Then a tooth popped through at about 12 weeks.

2nd one just about showing through now and she's not 4 months for a couple of weeks yet.

Could be teething although you might not see the teeth for a while. It's a torturous process . My sister was born with 2 teeth.

ds1 started dribbling at 10w, long before he ever started teething. Dd dribbled like a tap from day 2, also months before she started teething. Dribbling caused by teething is usually accompanied by red cheeks, often one-sided on the side where the tooth is coming, and fretfullness.

I am afraid it could be teething.
Moat of the effects of teething relate to the movement of teeth within the gum-once they have cut that's the hard/painful bit over.
Dd showed all these signs at 7 weeks.
