I have many out of the mouth of my dear grandad (DD's Great Grandad) but the best one yet was last week.

We were sitting having dinner and I was trying to persuade my 4 year old to eat her greens. Great granddad Pipes up with 'come on now HarryPoooters daughter, eat your greens, if you don't you will get fat and if you get fat your mummy will get told off by the police and go to prison!'

I was Hmmand my poor child was Shock.

Ha!

MIL to DS: "Ooh, get you with that sexy voice!"

DS was 5 and had a sore throat. I asked her to explain what she meant, to him. She didn't Grin

One of these comments reminded me of something my mother said to me at 14. I had been really ill and had been on steroid for about 4 months. Had put on a stone. 'I think it's time you lose a bit of weight, you are starting to look a bit chubby' (I was a size 12)

DF used the N word in front of my kids. The eldest was aghast, the others didn't really notice but I was horrified. I asked them to leave the room while I went apeshit.

DFIL continually used the word 'darkies' no matter what we said. He thought it was funny to wind us up.

My SIL called my grown-up DS by my exh's first name at a family party. Twice. We don't see her often but even so... Hmm
