Hug a Bub Wrap too Hot??

I´ve been reading all of the sling/ wrap reviews and dh and I both liked the look of the Hug a Bub. It seems to get great reviews but I am worried that a) it will be prohibitively complicated to use and b) it looks like a LOT of fabric to have around your body.
We live in Spain and our baby is due at the end of april by which time it will be heating up. I was wondering if a ring sling like an ellaroo or a maya would be cooler and easier to use? But then dh says these look too ´girly´.
Any advice on which of these slings would be best, and if your partners have got on better with any particular kind? I am tempted to disregard dh seeing as I am bound to be the one using it the most but of course I want him to like and want to use it too!

i have a black hugabub and stopped using it when the weather got too warm. in retrospect i definitely wouldn't have bought black and i have to say that hugging your baby closely to you in anything over 25 degrees is not a pleasant thought. Perhaps if I'd bought white it would have been a different story. But it was comfortable and lovely in winter.

i have no experience of the other slings that you've mentioned though...

I used a Hugabub with ds (born last April), then moved to a Didymous (which was fab, much firmer support when wrapped) as I found the hugabub stretched too much and didn't seem to come back so well when washed. I know what you mean about the yards of fabric but you very quickly get the hang of wrapping. But when it got really hot last July I bought a wrap in a much thinner fabric from Calin Bleu which does them in muslin-like fabrics which was miles more comfortable for both my ds and me. He was a really needy little baby and I had to wear him all the time. He wore a vest then I wrapped him onto me, plus a hat (obviously) when I went outside. I did try the slings but just couldn't get on with them at all, largely because he had reflux I think and was much more comfortable in an upright position. Sorry rather long post.

i had a tricotti sling and loved it in the winter, but would agree that by summer it would have been ridiculously uncomfortable to wear.
