My dd is 3.5 and has been dry for about 1- 1.5 years. At the moment she seems to be wetting her pants a lot, it does only seem to be a small amount. She has also wet her bed the last few nights.

Do you think she could have a slight infection?

yes quite possible

definitely go to Drs with a sample to rule out any infection

Mistymoo · 26/01/2007 20:10

Can I just take a sample in or do I have to make an appt?

Also could it clear up on its own?

Don't rely on it clearing up on its own, urine infections can get worse very quickly.

Make an appointment with the GP, if your area is like ours they won't be able to test it without the GP requesting it. Make sure you ask for it to be lab tested rather than just dipsticked as well.

I won't be able to phone to get an appt until Monday now.

Is she complaining of any pain or soreness when she wees? If not I'd probably leave it for now, and make an appointment on Monday. But if it gets any worse over the weekend, or if she's complaining of soreness or stinging now, then call the out of hours GP.

Mistymoo · 26/01/2007 20:28

No she isn't complaining about it being sore to go for a wee. There is no sign of thrush either. Was wondering if it was maybe to do with starting Nursery.

I'm having a similar issue. DD, 3YO, toileted trained for 7+months is now wetting her pants - not just a little - she is literally going without going to the loo. At first I ignored it and got on with it, now I've tried to ask why she is doing it (she says she did not get to the loo in time, but she doesn't even try.) I've made her change her own clothes and it does not seem to work. She does not seem upset by it. It does not happen all the time - we can have days where it doesn't and then days when she has 4 accidents in a row. She is at nursery (has been for 2.5 years so that's not new) and she does the same there - sometimes OK, sometimes not. We can't think of anything new in her life at the moment that could cause this and she seems her usual happy self. Any ideas????
