DS never asks for seconds

ever

(he eats non-stop from end of school up till 7.20pm though)

is it a breakthrough?

I was late giving them dinner .. I think I'll try this again (normally eat at 5 / 5.30)

if he eats non stop why is it so good that he asks for seconds, he obvioulsy eats plenty anyway

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 18:10

no you don't get it trinity

we come in from school .. he has a snack (like a bagel or a pita bread and about 2 apples)

then about 5 / 5.30 he gets dinner and we have normally moans and groans and half left ..unless its chilli con carne of course

then he turns into a locust and eats every 10 minutes (bread or fruit)

I just want him to eat the dinner I make him .. and fill up on that rather than bread or fruit

congratulations Twig!

I wonder how that feels and will I ever hear it?
Did you watch that programme about children and eating last night? A few interesting eating issues in there

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 18:20

oh FFS .. 2 helpings of dinner .. and now he's come in with ANOTHER FLAMIN' PITTA BREAD

what do I do about it

OP posts:
Twiglett · 26/01/2007 18:40

a banana and 2 small apples

where the feck does he put it all

why can't he fill up on dinner .. for half an hour even?

why does he never seem full in the evening

it was this programme: the truth about food - qute interetsing about feeding children - not that any of the tactics have worked on my DS1!

Twiglett · 26/01/2007 20:03

on the 'enough's enough' bit .. did they keep eating after they were full?

DS just kept eating and eating .. I thought the 2 servings of dinner later would fill him up . but he's a locust .. and I find it SO irritating

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 26/01/2007 20:05

but if he east good stuff like fruit or wholemeal bread it's good

have you really tried to figure out why it annoys you

oh and on another thought someitmes we mistake thirst for hunger, does he drink enough in the evening?

Tommy · 26/01/2007 20:44

they did this experiment whereby on one day they gave the children a "normal" child's size portion of spag bol and then, a few days later they gave them all a much bigger portion and they ate most of it - and still asked for pudding. Can't remember what that was supposde to prove except that their "full" messages weren't getting through.
