Certainly rings bells with me this one. I find ds does this particularly when he is tired - it is basically a version of 'I can't be arsed so you do it please'. Usually he is pacified if I start the process (undoing his coat for him etc)and then he finishes it and I have to remember to praise him greatly when he manages to do most of whatever it is himself - at which point you get a huge beaming smile. I am really impatient so I guess I can empathise with him but it does drive me absolutely f'ing nuts especially when I am trying to help dd who is only 17 months, at the same time. Will watch and see if those with more experience post..........

omg the nightmare...i mean memory... my advice get as many different ideas and rotate them...as soon as you think one idea is working ..they will sus you and you have to go in a different direction! constant change is my way...i suggest racing games...you do one thing (what ever needs doing) while he tries to beat you by putting his shoes on...he wins of course with big drama on your part ...congratulating him for winning...if he play up with this ..when you return to see how hes doing...play along with him...if he doesnt get on with this...then sometimes its easier to go with it and say oh well shall i help you today...this way you are not saying ...if you play up every time i will do it for you???see how you go...good luck
