swim wear?

Hi all! I'm taking my dd (5 months) swimming next week and was looking at mothercare online for a swimming costume when I came across a 'baby warmer' it does kinda look like a swimming costume but I'm wondering if I would put a costume on her underneath this regardless or just put her in this? Also any other tips to keep your little one warm whilst swimming? I have checked pool temperature is in baby guild lines she just hates being cold and I'm nervous she'll not like it at all if she's the slightest bit cold but it's a risk I'm willing to take any suggestions? does sound like a good idea if your little one feels the cold. Assuming its a whole body thing I would put a swim nappy underneath as otherwise she will be a bit messy to clean up afterwards even though it may contain it IYSWIM Normally I would recommend a happy nappy with nothing underneath as worked really well for us but if she feels the cold wouldn't be enough.

I just used a swim nappy underneath, no need for any other swimwear. I found the wrap warmer very good at keeping baby's core warm. It meant being able to stay in the water far longer.

Swimming tips:

First time expect to stay in the water no more than 15-20 minutes. Swimming (swishing about and splashing at that age) is exhausting for them. I wouldn't waste effort on paraphernalia such as swim rings to start with, just hold her close to you, swish about, sitting supported on your lap etc.

When you get out she will be starving. Get her warm and dry first, then you get dressed, finish her off and be ready to feed her straight away. She will probably sleep very well afterwards and you can have a nice quiet drink and cake somewhere without disturbance.

Don't expect to be able to wash your hair or primp yourself afterwards, save it for home.
