dd3 has really foul nappies atm. every one is pooey, i am chagning pooey nappies about 6+ times a day. which is unusual for her. you can imagine how sore her little bot is as well. i cant keep up with the laundry either.

so i guess its disposables untill this phase passes (3 days so far)

how old is she?

Misdee I can sympathise. No answers here though but as I was about to start a similar thread perhaps we should make this poo corner and see if anyone is brave enough to help out! The sheer quantity sounds like a bit of a concern though??

My DD is 17 mo and I can't remember the last time she produced something resembling a nice little poo. Unlike you we only have one or sometimes 2 a day. But they are wall to wall horridness. The only comparison I can make is crunchy peanut butter. Poooey! She doesn't drink lots of juice and I am limiting her fruit to a banana a day to try to help bind her up a bit.

I can't imagine what that lot is going to be like on the potty. Any ideas to improve the situation welcomed. I'm wondering if it's dairy, although I've cut back her milk to just cereal and 5 oz at bed. Should I go to the Doc about this or will they think I'm being a nutter!

Hi

Could you persuade her to sit on potty after meals. Long story but basically big problems with DD -potty sitting has hugely helped situation. DD does most of poos on potty now.

It takes little effort - I go to loo or shower at same time and she likes it. I read her story etc.

Might not be for you but thought Id mention it.

HTH

It sounds to me like she may have a mild tummy bug (some can be just diarrhoea with no sickness). How long has it been like this?

blossomhill · 18/01/2007 20:42

I remember my ds went through a few months of same thing and hv said it was toddler diarrhoea. Apparently quite normal.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 19/01/2007 12:56

mmm yes mine have all had 'toddler diarroeah' (cant spell that sorry!)- it subsides on its own in time but if you are worried why not talk to your hv?

Hanlou007 · 19/01/2007 13:04

Could it be teething.?????

specialmagiclady · 20/01/2007 15:03

My toddler has v. sloppy poo - but if they ever end up in the loo they look much more normal, the nappy squishes them up a bit.

But he tends to be sloppier generally if he's coming down with any kind of virus even colds, and definitely teething. And he's always gone 3-4 times a day.

However, if 6+ times a day is a lot more than normal, make sure she's getting enough fluids and keep an eye on the situation. If you're worried, take her to the doc or HV (I'm a terrible one for this - I wore a rut between my house and the doc's in year 1 while I just saught reassurance!)

evilsparklystepmom · 20/01/2007 15:05

my dd has really manky nappies when teething - every one a winner so to speak NOT. she is only 8 months though - perhaps go to doc if not better soon as might well be a bug?

misdee · 20/01/2007 15:05

i thuink it is toddler diahorrea now. she is perfectly well, not teething. she is eating loads as well atm which probably isnt helping.

have got disposables and bep-something bum cream.
