So we are going away on holiday next week and was wondering whether someone can list a few things i will need in my hand luggage for DD. I'm just slightly worried i will forget something. Also is there anything i cant take through security? Thanks!

I've flown with the DTs quite a few times and have never been asked to open pouches. They had to go through as liquids but that's the extent of any issues.

In the US, we don't even have the recommendation of boiling formula water before mixing -- which is a good thing, since my baby prefers it COLD, weird, right?

Anyway, feel free to just mix with bottled water on the plane. If formula powder got contaminated and was making kids sick whose parents weren't following the instructions to the letter, you'd surely hear about it and it would be national news.

I second just mixing it with normal room temp water. I know it's against UK guidelines, but I live overseas in an expat community and loads of other countries (US, Canada, Oz etc) make theirs up with room temp water. As a one off, it won't matter.

You can get these milkshake/protein shake mixers in Lakeland which are really useful for mixing up Neocate on the run.

And don't count on cabin crew being able to help at all - on a 4 hour flight they are likely to be busy for most of it and they might make you wait. Been there done that with my twins screaming their heads off on a flight because they could see their bottles but they were too hot to give to them and I had no way of cooling them down quickly!
