Tips for a 6yo with broken leg

dd broke her leg yesterday and now has a pink and purple full leg plaster for company for the next 6 weeks. Anyone have any tips for a trampoline/riding/non tv sort of girl (parents already near the edge..!)

poor thing. I know you say she's a non tv type of girl, but if she likes certain sports, like riding, would she enjoy a virtual game based around it? Has she a gameboy or a playstation yet? probably not as she is six, but something interactive could help her while away the hours.

Inviting her friends round to give her some moral support and admire the plaster?

could you buy her some really nice art materials - she will have lots of time to draw and paint. Or let her look at some children's internet sites?

give her a magazine, glue and scissors or photographs of herself on holiday, etc to make a collage or empty containers, cereal boxes and some sello tape to make a doll's house or a farm,i'm sure you'll get lots of ideas from mumsnetters

I thought paper dolls straightaway and found this attractive site with printables and looks like lots of ideas along the lines of a book I loved when i was little called Something to Do

Thankyou, have printed the paper dolls, a bit like Velvet brown ehh lemonice! Have avoided gameboy/playstations so far but will introduce the mosaic/collages later. Shes quite enjoying life on her yellow zimmer!

Yamamoto how is your dd getting on? Not too itchy I hope.

yamamoto · 04/06/2004 22:51

Shes doing fine, thankyou. Loads of attention so I think shes quite enjoying herself!

On the second set of dress designs...

A few concerns over the fracture but have since found out its all about 'angulation!' and thats fine.

No itches as yet but 5 weeks to go..
